Five of the most important examinations in an accident

Today for most people the car is not only a means of transportation, but also an instrument of business. And, of course, force majeure in the form of accidents become a serious stress for car owners. But, the devil is not so terrible as he is painted. We decided to find out what expertise should be done after the accident in order to protect themselves from unjust costs.

1. Autotechnical expertise
It is also called an expert analysis of an accident. Here, experts approach a road accident from a scientific point of view, justifying what happened at each moment of time. But the main thing is that by enlisting the support of experts, it is possible to establish reliably the nature of the accident: it was a combination of circumstances (accident) or wrong actions of road users.
When carrying out such an examination, programs are used that make it possible to reproduce the mechanism of an accident from the very beginning. This software helps not only to determine the speed of the car before the collision, but also to justify the coordinates of the scene. Often, experts use the results of a crash test of a particular vehicle or its certification test.

2. Technical expertise

Here, the experts are tasked to study and assess the state of the road infrastructure and compare the data obtained with the standards in force in this area. For example, expertise can answer questions about weather and other conditions that could cause an accident. Was it possible to prevent a collision (impact) taking into account all the physico-technical and climatic circumstances? Also, due to road-technical expertise, it is possible to forecast the probability of an accident based on the identified inconsistencies in road conditions with the current standards.

3.Trasological analysis of damage to the vehicle

This study is relevant for cases if one of the parties doubts, in nature or the mechanism of the formation of prints. Very often, agents and clients of insurance companies resort to this type of expertise. The first - to counter insurance fraud in the design of CASCO and other types of insurance TC; The second - with the intention to appeal an unreasonable refusal to pay insurance compensation.

4. Fire and technical expertise

It is conducted to establish the time and focus of the fire, its causes, as well as the fact of non-compliance with the rules of fire and technical safety. Experts examine both the place of the fire and the burned up elements of buildings, cars, charred parts, mechanisms, objects.
It is also important to clarify the availability and technical condition of fire extinguishers and other fire fighting equipment.

5. Psychophysiological examination

On the shoulders of experts, the task is to investigate the Driver-Car-Road-Environment (VADS) system and identify the psycho-emotional characteristics of the driver, which in some cases become the cause of accidents.
During the movement, the driver can get into a situation where the characteristics of the traffic situation can exceed the psychological and physiological capabilities of the body. It is about the congestion of the road picture by the objects of movement, the difficulty in perceiving the driving conditions, or the availability of the opportunity to respond in a timely manner to the danger.

The fact is that according to the law the driver is not liable in the perfect accident if it is proved that he did not have a psychophysiological opportunity to prevent an accident. However, this formulation does not apply to the situation where the driver deliberately sat behind the wheel in a painful state or, for example, under the influence of psychotropic substances.
Causes of erroneous actions of the driver:
  • Lack of time to process information and make decisions;
  • Presence of distractions;
  • Negative experiences.

In particular, young drivers and young drivers often fall under the last criterion.

The results of all the foregoing examinations can shed light on the causes of the road accident, establish the truth in administrative and criminal cases, and in some cases protect the driver from the unfair actions of third parties.
